| According to BusinessWeek's fourth annual survey of Best Places in the United States of America to raise your Kids, the City of Pembroke Pines is ranked the Number One City in the State of Florida. The recognition was given in 2008 and again in 2010. It is about 15 miles south of downtown Fort Lauderdale, among the attractions: low crime, the Pembroke Lakes Mall, and the schools, which include a charter high school.
